Mike Pompeo Goes To Kyiv Again As War Escalates

On Friday, Sir Keir Starmer meet with President Biden in Washington, DC to discuss the possible use of long range missiles against Russia, but their talks were inconclusive. According to The Telegraph, Boris Johnson and 5 former British defence ministers "urged Sir Keir to unilaterally allow Ukraine to fire British-made Storm Shadow long-distance missiles at Russia rather than wait for Mr Biden to make a decision.", but the decision has been postponed until Biden and Zelensky meet on the sidelines of the upcoming UN General Assembly "High Level Week", September 22-30.
 

Late that day, Zelensky met with former CIA director Mike Pompeo, and repeated his plea to use long range weapons:

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Kyiv.
The head of state thanked the Administration of the President of the United States, the Congress and the entire American people for the unprecedented military and financial support of Ukraine.
"Thanks to US support and help in strengthening the international coalition, we are making progress on the battlefield. But we need permission to use long-range weapons. I hope that the American political community clearly understands this and a corresponding decision will be made," Volodymyr Zelenskyi said. He noted the importance of increasing military aid and joint development of defense technologies, as well as increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and its allies - Iran and North Korea.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula and preparations for the second Peace Summit.
